In the electrical installation and construction of the substation, in order to ensure the safety of construction, all cable trenches in the station need to be sealed with temporary cover plates, and the formal cable trench cover plates can only be covered after the completion of the project

Due to the difference in engineering design or electrical equipment base, the temporary cover plate is mostly iron or concrete, and its reuse rate generally does not exceed 10%, and the extremely low reuse rate increases the construction cost
of the substation.
At the beginning of 2014, the company's substation construction team proposed the idea of developing a "multi-purpose temporary cable trench cover plate" to match the cable trench in different substations, so that the reuse rate of temporary cable trench cover plate reached 100%, and carried out research
accordingly.
According to the size of the temporary cable trench cover plate of all construction substations within one year, combined with the engineering design of substations of different voltage levels, they repeatedly designed and tested a variety of materials, focusing on how to reuse the temporary cable trench cover plate

In November 2014, the company successfully developed the "multi-purpose temporary cable trench cover plate"

The tool is made of aluminum alloy sheet reinforcement and is composed of two layers of superposition, including the outer base, the inner base, the adjustable bracket device (with paw lock) and the support fixture
.
When capping cable trenches of different widths in the substation, the construction personnel only need to adjust the length of the cover plate to the corresponding cable trench width by adjusting the bracket, which can realize the sealing of the cable trenches of different widths, and can be dismantled and reused
after the construction of the substation is completed.
The device not only ensures the personal safety of operators, but also can be used
on cable trenches of various widths.
Since 2015, the company has reused the device in five 110 kV substation main substation lease expansion projects, creating economic benefits of more than 100,000 yuan
