Scientists studied the corrosion resistance of epoxy-based nanocomposite coatings enhanced by zeolite complexes on low-carbon steel.
-based nanocomposing coatings have attracted attention in industrial and engineering applications. The excellent and high efficiency of epoxy-based nanocomposic coatings is attributed to their excellent properties, such as high stability, good adhesion, reduced H2 O permeability, significant acid and alkali and solvent resistance, and enhanced mechanical properties .
an epoxy resin coating containing different weight percentages of enveloped Ni(II) lid-zeolite Y (Ni (Bu) 2 (Bu) (14) aneN 6) -NaY) is prepared and used in low carbon steel. Their corrosion resistance was explored by Tafel polarization and electrochemical impedance spectrometrography (EIS) technology immersed at 3.5 wt. %NaCl solution as a corrosive medium.
    Obvious protective effect
Based on this result, it is understood that the anti-corrosion resistance of the epoxy coating can be improved by the Ni (Bu) 2 (Bu) (14) aneN 6) - NaY, and its optimal weight score is 3 kg. The results of the scanning electroscope show that the presence of Ni (Bu) 2 (Bu) and aneN 6)-NaY in epoxy coatings has a significant protective effect, and indicates that epoxy-based nanocomposective coatings are non-cracked and uniform. The immersion test study showed that the Rct value of the synthetic nanocomposed coating decreased slightly after 43 days of immersion, and the coating had high protective properties, as the PE value of the nano-composite coating was 99.72 percent after 43 days of immersion.
the study was published in November 2019 on page 136 of Organic Coatings Advances.
