ADNOC GAS, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), recently announced it is increasing capital expenditure and natural gas supply amid robust domestic demand and surging global liquefied natural gas (LNG) demand driven by the artificial intelligence boom. ADNOC GAS stated that a global LNG supply gap is expected in the long term. UAE natural gas demand is projected to grow by 6% before 2030, while global LNG demand is forecast to rise at an annual rate of 3% through 2040. Darryl Derell, Chief Financial Officer of ADNOC GAS, said: “Driven by rising demand, our LNG business is scaling up.”

The company reaffirmed its $28 billion capital expenditure plan for 2026–2030 and is advancing construction of the Rich Gas Development (RGD) project. By expanding processing capacity and enhancing condensate recovery capabilities, the initiative aims to further strengthen the UAE’s natural gas supply and downstream industrial competitiveness. Implementation of the $28 billion investment plan and commencement of RGD construction ADNOC Gas is executing its five-year $28 billion capital expenditure budget and has finalized the Final Investment Decisions (FIDs) for Phases II and III of the Rich Gas Development (RGD) project. As a key component of project advancement, the company has awarded engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts totaling $8.2 billion. Among these, the Habshan Phase 7 gas processing line contract—valued at approximately $3.9 billion—has been awarded to China’s Wison Engineering; the Ruwais NGL 5 condensate fractionation unit contract—valued at around $4.3 billion—has been awarded to Italy’s Tecnimont. ADNOC Gas stated that RGD Phase II will add new gas processing lines at the Habshan complex to expand gas processing capacity and enhance operational flexibility, thereby supporting the UAE’s continuously growing downstream and petrochemical industry demand. Phase III will construct new NGL fractionation facilities in Ruwais to boost the recovery and export capacity of high-value condensates from rich gas. Rising natural gas demand is driving industrial upgrading, prompting the UAE to intensify investments in energy infrastructure.
