Of course, other biotech-tracking indices also saw strong gains: IBB (Nasdaq Biotechnology Index) and XBI (SPDR S&P Biotech ETF) each hold ~2% and ~1.4% Moderna exposure, respectively—fueling their sharp rallies today. ……… Finally, despite the sector-wide surge, it’s important to temper expectations: we have not yet reached the point where an AI-powered, fully closed-loop pharmaceutical revolution can be declared definitively successful. First, the cost of sequencing, designing, and manufacturing a personalized mRNA vaccine for each individual remains commercially unproven—current per-patient costs still range from tens of thousands to over $100,000. Second, although the Phase III trial announced efficacy, full survival data have not yet been released—akin to an earnings pre-announcement: good news, but without the granular details on magnitude or durability.
