In Q3 2024, CMA CGM’s maritime transport operations handled 6.04 million TEUs, up 5.6% year-on-year—driven primarily by robust global trade demand. Strong demand amplified the peak-season effect. Meanwhile, vessel rerouting around the Cape of Good Hope and forward-looking demand anticipation amid global uncertainty continue to constrain shipping capacity. This heightened demand not only intensified the typical peak-season effect but also triggered an earlier-than-usual start to the peak season. Maritime transport revenue for the quarter reached USD 10.9 billion, up 43.4% year-on-year. EBITDA totaled USD 4.4 billion, with EBITDA margin rising to 40.2%. Average revenue per TEU stood at USD 1,798—reflecting further improvement in profitability.
