Stock Summary for February 25

I bought six stocks: Jiantou Energy, Western Materials, Hainan Pharmaceutical, Baofeng Energy, Mosu Technology, and Te-Yi Pharmaceutical. Except for Baofeng Energy—which declined today—the other five all rose to varying degrees. However, Mosu Technology remains the stock I’m most uneasy about. All the other five stocks show signs of active institutional involvement: Baofeng Energy is undergoing position-shaking (a washout), i.e., being deliberately suppressed; the rest are seeing institutional buying. Mosu Technology stands alone: institutions aren’t making large moves—instead, they’re steadily offloading shares to retail investors, who then absorb the supply. Yet the stock still managed a slight rebound and edged up marginally. I’ll observe it again tomorrow; if things don’t improve, I’ll sell. I feel that profit is confidence. When I was up over RMB 3,000 in profit, I had no qualms about cutting losses on confusing stocks—even if it meant taking a RMB 200–300 loss—because tying up capital felt like a greater waste. After losing all my year-end profits over the three days before Spring Festival, this same Mosu Technology position incurred a loss of over RMB 200, yet I didn’t rush to sell. Partly, I wanted to wait and see—hoping for a small rebound. I reasoned that since institutions were distributing shares, they wouldn’t recklessly crash the stock; at the very least, they’d likely pull it upward first to lure in some retail ‘greenhorns’.

Today’s market remained extremely vibrant, primarily driven by an influx of new funds. With people staying home due to the epidemic, entrepreneurs, white-collar workers, employees, and even housewives have all jumped into stock trading en masse. So far, nearly everyone is in profit—prompting them to further increase investment and add positions. Ultimately, however, many will lose everything. The novel coronavirus-related sector saw over 100 stocks hit the daily upper limit (‘limit-up’). There are simply too many to list individually—refer to the categorized lists above. The sector leader remains Lianhuan Pharmaceutical, which—as noted in yesterday’s review—was expected to reach 10–11 consecutive limit-ups. It opened flat and instantly surged to its ninth straight limit-up today, making it the biggest ‘monster stock’ recently. For the novel coronavirus sector, just track Lianhuan Pharmaceutical: as long as the sector maintains strong momentum, it will likely continue rising. The automotive industry chain includes Changchun Kaifa, Aotegia, Mosu Technology, Tianci Materials, Anjie Technology, and Defang Nanomaterials—all achieving three consecutive limit-ups. Several others posted two consecutive limit-ups, while nine stocks hit their first limit-up today. This sector remains highly sensitive to Tesla’s U.S. listing performance; key watchlist names include Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) and Mosu Technology. The online education and remote-office sector features Sanwu Internet with six consecutive limit-ups; Fangzhi Technology, Century Tianhong, and Huichang Communication with four consecutive limit-ups; plus over 20 stocks hitting three, two, or their first limit-up. Within this sector, online education appears more sustainable than remote-office solutions, because enterprises began resuming work on February 9, whereas schools won’t reopen before late February. The BeiDou Navigation sector features China Satellite with three consecutive limit-ups; China Satcom, Hualicronton, and Obitat with two consecutive limit-ups; and Tianyin Electro-Mechanical hitting its first limit-up. The Central Document No. 1 (agriculture policy) sector features Dunhuang Seed Industry with two consecutive limit-ups; plus five first-time limit-ups from stocks including Agricultural Products, Tianma Technology, and Fengle Seed Industry. The technology sector features Shenzhen Konka A, Yaguang Technology, and Starsemicon with three consecutive limit-ups; several others with two limit-ups; and over ten stocks hitting their first limit-up.
