A 20-billion-yuan green ammonia order emerges! The era of international trade in the 'new oil' has arrived.

During this year’s Spring Festival holiday, green ammonia produced at Envision’s Chifeng Zero-Carbon Industrial Park was loaded onto a vessel bound for South Korea at Xuwu Port in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province. This not only helps meet carbon neutrality goals but also diversifies their energy supply. Ammonia also enables industrial decarbonization. Samsung Group operates across construction, chemicals, power, and infrastructure sectors; green ammonia can replace grey ammonia as a chemical feedstock. The long-term off-take agreement between Reliance Industries and Samsung C&T addresses key industry challenges facing green hydrogen—including lack of stable buyers, massive project investments, and long payback periods. Under the agreement, Reliance Industries will begin supplying green ammonia to Samsung C&T on a long-term basis starting from the second half of FY2029. This collaboration is regarded as a milestone in India’s clean energy transition—and reflects India’s strategic ambition to leverage its domestic clean energy industrial chain to become a global green fuel export hub, aligning with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM). Anant Ambani, Executive Director of Reliance Industries, stated that the company’s new energy strategy aims to scale up green fuels and green chemicals by integrating renewable energy resources, domestic manufacturing, and technology development—and that such partnerships will support the expansion of its green hydrogen ecosystem and gigafactories.
