What did Iran's military spokesperson say about U.S. claims of normal ship passage through the Strait of Hormuz?

"The false claims of the United States that ships are passing through the Strait of Hormuz normally ... are nothing more than lies and fabrications," said Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Iran's central military command, Khatam-al Anbiya.

According to Iranian officials, what is the current status of control over the Strait of Hormuz?

Iranian officials—including Zolfaghari, Basij head Hossein Taeb, and diplomat Abbas Araghchi—asserted that the Strait of Hormuz is 'under the complete management and control of the Islamic Republic of Iran,' with no commercial ship or tanker permitted safe passage without permission and supervision of the Iranian armed forces; they further stated that US and Israeli military vessels are barred from passing through the strait under any circumstances.
