Methanex plans to idle New Zealand plants as gas supply dwindles

Methanex will indefinitely idle its New Zealand methanol production facilities by Q1 2027 due to declining domestic natural gas availability. The company plans to sell its remaining gas entitlements and expects no material cash costs during the transition.
