Despite strong policy support, it staged a sharp rebound followed by a rapid pullback—prompting regulators to roll out additional supportive measures over the weekend. The coal sector surged sharply—Yunmei Energy and Shaanxi Heimao both hit the daily limit-up. Consumer stocks broadly advanced—home furnishings, food & beverage, liquor, tourism, and hotel & catering stocks led the gains. Cyclical stocks also strengthened: besides coal, steel and nonferrous metals ranked among the top performers. Hangzhou Asian Games-related stocks rallied near midday—Hangzhou Landscape surged 20% to the daily limit-up; Hangzhou Jiebai, Zhongzhuang Construction, and Sanjiang Shopping also hit the daily limit-up. Aquaculture, nuclear contamination prevention, data elements, and environmental protection sectors posted the steepest declines.
