Trump urges surrender to end hostilities; Zelenskyy refuses, resolute in defiance. Though the land lies shattered, the people’s will remains unbroken; though war drags on, their spirit soars like a rainbow-hued dragon.

It is precisely such incendiary rhetoric from Zelenskyy that makes ending this war so difficult—and he has little cause for boasting. Ukraine’s situation is dire: he could choose peace—or fight on for another three years until his entire country is lost. I have no ties to Russia, but what concerns me more is that, on average, five thousand Russian and Ukrainian soldiers die senselessly every week. Zelenskyy’s statement today will only prolong the slaughter—a prospect nobody wants. We are already extremely close to reaching an agreement; this man, who claims to have ‘no cards left to play,’ should just seal the deal. If I were president, this war would never have happened… After blaming Zelenskyy, Vice President Vance—while visiting India—also threatened Ukraine: the U.S. has presented both Russia and Ukraine with a “very clear peace agreement,” and if either side rejects it, America will simply walk away! Ha ha—‘walking away’ again. Perhaps Ukraine and Europe have long hoped Trump would vanish as far away as possible. Admittedly, the U.S. once made significant contributions to world civilization—but now it’s cozying up to the ‘rogue bear’ while intimidating Ukraine! In truth, under Trump, America has become a ‘liability’ for Ukraine; ‘walking away’ is actually good news for Kyiv. After Trump’s second inauguration, halting aid was bad enough—but then came endless finger-wagging and nagging, relentlessly pressuring Ukraine to surrender to the aggressor, draining Ukrainians’ energy and resolve. When a bully commits violence, even claiming neutrality amounts in practice to siding with evil. For Ukraine, when the Trump camp refuses to stand with victims, it’s best they say nothing—and do nothing—just get as far away as possible! According to an ABC News report on April 23, Polish Foreign Minister Sikorski addressed Russia’s leadership: “Is your territory not vast enough already? You span eleven time zones—yet still aren’t satisfied? Please govern your existing lands properly, in accordance with international law.” Though Trump wasn’t named directly, Sikorski’s remarks clearly criticized Trump’s willingness to make concessions to Russia. Sikorski added, “We can no longer indulge illusions or remain passive…” 4. On April 22, Ukrainian drones launched a surprise strike against one of Russia’s largest arms depots—the Russian Ministry of Defense’s 51st Armament Depot. Covering 502 hectares, the depot had storage capacity equivalent to 4,286 railway cars of munitions. Located only 65 km from Moscow, the attack triggered explosions and massive fires involving over 100,000 tons of assorted ammunition and missiles—even spreading to surrounding forests. Reportedly, an S-400 air defense missile system was also destroyed in the raid, yet failed to mount any defense. While most observers attribute the attack to Ukrainian drones, Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed the fire resulted from “violations of operational safety protocols,” attempting to shift blame onto internal negligence. Ha ha—the Black Sea Fleet flagship Moskva was sunk due to a cigarette butt, so I guess Russia’s one of its largest arms depots—the MoD’s 51st Depot—also exploded because someone lit up a smoke? Turns out the ‘rogue bear’ is really just a giant, clumsy goose! On the evening of April 23, six Ukrainian drones flew 1,500 km to launch a precise strike on the Yelabuga drone factory—inflicting severe damage!

The EU pledges another €40 billion in aid to Ukraine; subsequent fighting at Donetsk Airport

[3] The UK’s Foreign Secretary stated that the G7 will pressure Russia to accept a ceasefire—and claimed intelligence ‘cut-offs’ have not significantly impacted Ukrainian combat operations: According to The Guardian’s report on Lammy’s latest remarks, he said that at last week’s G7 foreign ministers’ meeting in Canada, consensus was reached: “The ceasefire proposal is now on the table,” he said, adding, “Ukraine is serious about peace”—and Putin must now decide how to respond. If Putin is sincere, he should prove it with a full, unconditional ceasefire. If he refuses to honor commitments, the G7 will intensify pressure to compel Russia to engage in earnest negotiations. The main levers will remain energy and defense sectors—potentially squeezing Russia’s oil revenues and utilizing frozen Russian assets. Lammy also asserted that the U.S. suspension of intelligence sharing and supply disruptions “have not substantially affected the course of the war,” citing their brief duration. Regarding the ceasefire proposal, Lammy noted Britain is considering deploying troops to Ukraine—“but only with U.S. support.” From the UK’s current stance, its overarching diplomatic strategy remains tightly tethered to the U.S., doing everything possible to prevent a ‘decoupling’ between America and Europe—especially Ukraine. Anyone can see that Russia shows little enthusiasm for the proposed “30-day ceasefire,” and given the tens of thousands of sanctions already imposed, further reductions in oil revenue—or the reallocation of frozen assets—would hardly matter. Likewise, anyone can see that Ukraine’s air defense interception rate against incoming Russian missiles has plummeted by half, and Ukrainian forces have withdrawn from Kursk—clearly linked to the U.S. suspension of intelligence sharing and supply disruptions. Moreover, America’s treatment of Ukraine—reneging on aid pledges amid active warfare—has deeply shaken confidence among U.S. allies worldwide. Thus, I wholly disagree with Lammy’s assessment. Yet, viewed through the lens of Britain’s broader political imperative—to hold the U.S. alliance together—Lammy’s remarks make strategic sense. Britain isn’t ignoring reality outright; its role as a ‘binding agent’ remains critically important. [4] Poland’s Foreign Minister stated Trump must compel Putin to abandon his absurd demands regarding Ukraine: While some seek to ‘bind,’ others aim to ‘squeeze’—and Sikorski’s remarks serve as a direct counterpoint to Lammy’s. This politician—who once famously read aloud, word-for-word, a scathing rebuke of Russia’s UN Ambassador Nebenzya at a UN session—acknowledged that Trump’s campaign pledge to “resolve the Ukraine war in 24 hours” won’t be easy to fulfill. Yet he urged Trump to persuade Putin to drop his outlandish demands—such as total control over Ukraine, Ukrainian ‘demilitarization,’ or future plans to seize more Ukrainian territory. Sikorski said: “We will assess the success of Trump’s talks based on the quality of the peace achieved.” He warned that although Russia aims to seize all of Ukraine and confront half of Europe—and though it will certainly fail—Putin may well harbor such ambitions. Sikorski also appealed to Poland’s opposition parties to ‘do the right thing’ for Ukraine and Europe: He noted Hungary alone is currently blocking the start of Ukraine’s EU accession negotiations. He stressed that the conditions for launching accession talks “should not hinge on bilateral issues, but solely on whether Ukraine meets EU membership criteria.”
