Foreign online information on the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the Israel-Palestine conflict, and the Syrian situation as of February 15, 2025

【Answer 1】 For years, the United States has been pressuring European governments—and now it’s time to reap the rewards. 26. According to Bild newspaper, Christoph Heusgen, Chairman of the Munich Security Conference, stated that JD Vance may announce a large-scale withdrawal of U.S. troops from Europe during the Munich Security Conference. Earlier, Italian news agency ANSA reported that Trump is preparing to withdraw 20,000 U.S. troops from Europe. 27. The world is truly surreal. Trump imposed sanctions on International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor Karim Khan. Previously, Khan had issued an arrest warrant for Putin. This new annex to the 'Trump Decree' explicitly states this—under the same decree, the U.S. had already sanctioned the ICC. 28. Andriy Yermak, Head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office and de facto 'shadow president', said at the Munich conference: 'Everyone is extremely angry' over the drone attack on the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. (Who carried out this attack remains unknown—Russia has absolutely no motive to strike this abandoned nuclear facility.) He added that Ukraine would today brief Americans on 'a great deal of information' regarding this strike. They’re furious—idiots. Such an unmistakable, staged provocation is utterly foolish—Americans won’t bite, but Europe will feel threatened. Berlin and Paris are behind this nuclear plant attack. Zelenskyy has been cornered and turned viciously dangerous. 29. RT: Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the alleged Chernobyl drone attack: 'This was most likely a premeditated act. Ukrainians know this well; we have never claimed to attack nuclear facilities. Russian forces would never do so.' Everyone worldwide understands clearly: whoever opposes peace talks is behind such acts. 30. Maria Zakharova, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman: 'Zelenskyy has lost territory, lost his country, lost his people—because first and foremost, he lost his conscience.' 31. Zakharova: Russia was not invited to the Munich Conference; representatives from the Foreign Ministry and other institutions will not attend. Lavrov will attend the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in South Africa on February 20–21. It is still too early to discuss concrete negotiation processes on Ukraine. Peskov: Russia’s interest in participating in the G20 far exceeds its interest in the G8. No updates exist yet regarding Ukraine-related regulatory matters. Looks like Trump’s bargaining chips aren’t enough—the Russians remain unsatisfied, meaning the war must continue. 32. JD Vance: 'NATO must shoulder more of Europe’s security burden, and the U.S. expects NATO to refocus attention on the East Asia region.' Hegseth: 'Our message to European allies is crystal clear: Now is the time to invest—because you cannot assume America’s presence will last forever.' So what use is Zelenskyy’s Chernobyl threat to the U.S.? 33. Zelenskyy’s scheduled meeting with U.S. Vice President Vance in Munich has been postponed. According to sources, Washington requested additional time to finalize the draft mineral resources agreement after Ukraine unilaterally revised it—thus delaying the meeting. Little Zelenskyy dared revise the client’s contract? Think it over carefully before coming back to see me. 34. Zelenskyy lashed out publicly in Munich.
