4.15 Shenzhen 'Everything Rare, Everything Inspiring' Forum: Highlights! Unlocking a New Engine for Growth in Foodservice Packaging!

Hu Zhengyang, the forum’s lead organizer, stated that this event focused specifically on foodservice packaging, aiming to build a professional platform for efficient collaboration among restaurant brands, packaging enterprises, materials and technology providers, design & R&D teams, and marketing channels—thereby driving comprehensive upgrades across the foodservice packaging sector. He further expressed hope that the forum would foster consensus across the entire industry chain, accelerate the practical implementation of sustainable packaging technologies, standardize industry norms, and resolve real-world challenges faced by foodservice brands during packaging upgrades and overseas expansion—ultimately supporting both China’s packaging industry and foodservice brands in jointly advancing toward a new stage of high-quality, sustainable, and international development. 2 Guest Presentations ▼ 01 Long Yao, Brand Consultant at Zhijian Brand Consulting Presentation Topic: “Delicious Food, Cultural Food—What Is the Way Forward for the Foodservice Industry?” Long Yao, Chairman of Zhijian Brand Consulting, framed his talk against the backdrop of an era rejecting standardized consumption. He directly addressed the core challenges currently facing the foodservice industry—severe product homogenization and increasing difficulty in acquiring traffic—and proposed the integrated “Culture-Product-Channel” model as the key breakthrough strategy. Drawing upon numerous real-world implementation cases, he demonstrated that culture is not an abstract or intangible concept, but rather a brand asset that can be deconstructed, transformed, and monetized. By deeply exploring and visually articulating regional cultures, intangible cultural heritage elements, and folk emotional resonance, brands can forge distinctive super-symbols and memorable touchpoints. 02 Wang Xiaofei, Solenis (Shanghai) Chemicals Co., Ltd. Presentation Topic: “From Products to Services: Deepening Sustainable Packaging Functional Chemical Solutions” From the perspective of foundational industrial technology, Mr. Wang Xiaofei focused on the practical implementation of sustainable packaging technologies in the foodservice sector, tackling the three major pain points—environmental friendliness, functionality, and cost—at the material level, and showcasing Solenis’ globally leading sustainable packaging chemical solutions. In response to stringent global regulations—including plastic restrictions, PFAS bans, and carbon management mandates—Solenis has built a comprehensive technical portfolio covering pulp-molded products, paper coating, and food-contact applications, centered on fluorine-free oil- and water-resistant coatings, PE-free recyclable aqueous coatings, and bio-based and PHA biodegradable materials. Building on the current wave of packaging industry expansion into Southeast Asia, he further elaborated how Solenis’ global supply network synergizes with localized technical support services to help clients navigate real-world challenges—including supply chain instability, regulatory compliance variations, and cost control—leveraging technological certainty to counter market uncertainty, thereby transforming sustainability from a burden into a genuine competitive advantage. 03 Zhan Xiaojian, Founder of Chuanshan Golden Roast Goose Presentation Topic: “It’s Not Just About Tasting Good—It’s About Being Seen” As a hands-on foodservice brand practitioner, Zhan Xiaojian used the full rebranding case of Chuanshan Golden Roast Goose to illustrate how intangible cultural heritage (ICH)-based foodservice brands can overcome their “visibility crisis” through systematic upgrades spanning packaging, physical space, and overall branding—achieving simultaneous growth in reputation and sales performance. Confronting common issues in the roasted meat and poultry category—including product homogenization, underutilized ICH assets, and low brand visibility—Chuanshan adopted the “Brand Experience Triad” framework to execute a holistic upgrade across visual identity, spatial design, and packaging. Specifically regarding packaging, the redesign balanced delivery practicality with brand communication power: basic functional requirements—such as thermal insulation and leak-proofing—ensured customer experience; unified visual language and prominent brand messaging turned every order into organic, self-propagating exposure; and premium retail gift boxes were elevated into culturally resonant, story-driven gifting items—enhancing product premiumization and repeat purchase rates. This presentation conclusively demonstrated that packaging is not merely a cost center, but rather a silent salesperson and a mobile advertisement—a long-term, quantifiable, and ROI-positive brand investment. 04 Meng Yunlan, Anfeirui (Beijing) Engineering Design & Consulting Co., Ltd.
