What specific reparations and conditions has Iran demanded from the U.S. regarding the Strait of Hormuz and the ongoing conflict?

Iran demands that the U.S. end its blockade of Iranian ports, lift economic sanctions, release Iran’s frozen assets, and pay compensation for war damage caused by U.S. and Israeli bombardment over the past five months — conditions Tehran says must be met before it reopens the Strait of Hormuz.

How did Trump respond to Iran’s reparations demand, and what counter-demands did he make?

Trump scoffed at Iran’s demand, noting Tehran’s negotiators had not raised it until then; he countered by demanding compensation from Iran for Americans killed or wounded by Iran-backed militants — citing the 1983 Beirut bombing and at least 603 U.S. troop deaths in Iraq (2003–2011) — and also called for compensation for families of Iranian protesters killed, instructing his representatives to include these demands in all future negotiations.
