What is Trump's stated deadline and consequence for Iran regarding the Strait of Hormuz deal?

Trump stated that Iran has a 'last chance' to reach a deal with Oman on the Strait of Hormuz 'as soon as Tuesday', warning that failure to do so would result in 'devastating air strikes' — which he described as 'decapitation'. He emphasized the urgency by saying, 'You’ll find out today or tomorrow... they’re going to go quickly, one way or the other.'

What is Iran's core demand regarding maritime access through the Strait of Hormuz, and how does Trump respond to it?

Iran insists it has the right to manage maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz and demands vessels seek its permission before transiting — including imposing charges for access. Trump explicitly rejected this condition, stating, 'there’s not going to be charging' for access to the strait, signaling a non-negotiable stance on that point.
