Westlake to shut Germany PVC plant as chemical market worsens

Westlake Chemical Corporation will close its PVC plant in Cologne, Germany, by Q1 2027 due to weak demand and high energy costs. The closure is expected to incur approximately $205 million in pre-tax charges.
