The Key Laboratory of Marginal Seas and Ocean Geology ( OMG ) Marine Sedimentation and Paleoenvironmental Group, South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences , has reconstructed the precipitation record of the Andaman Sea through sediment core indicators and found that the Indian Ocean summer monsoon precipitation occurred in the Early Middle Holocene.
