Aromatic Five-Silicon Rings Synthesized at Last

Independent teams from Saarland and Tohoku Universities have successfully synthesized pentasilacyclopentadienide, marking the first creation of an all-silicon aromatic five-membered ring. The findings were published in Science, fulfilling a decades-long goal in organosilicon chemistry.
