Alternatively, microbial fermentation employs genetically engineered microorganisms (e.g., *E. coli*, *Corynebacterium glutamicum*) as 'cell factories'. By optimizing their metabolic pathways, these microbes directly ferment glucose or similar substrates to produce vitamin B1. Both thiamine hydrochloride and thiamine nitrate are synthetically produced; their efficacy and bioavailability are virtually identical, and their raw materials are inexpensive. I’ll cover other topics later! I’m confident that Amway itself does not synthesize these raw materials—the required chemical synthesis demands numerous specialized reaction apparatuses. So where do these raw materials come from? Clearly, Amway purchases them from other companies! I’ve identified a high-quality brand—though I won’t name it—to illustrate what truly premium dietary supplements use for ingredients. This product costs approximately ¥254 for a 30-day supply, averaging about ¥8.5 per day. Without comparison, there’s no basis for judgment. As shown, nearly all ingredients in this multivitamin-mineral capsule are top-tier, with some even specifying branded sources—explicitly signaling ingredient quality to consumers. In stark contrast, certain brands falsely tout 'natural extraction' while merely blending trace amounts of plant extracts into largely inferior, low-cost ingredients—and then charge exorbitant prices. My conclusion: Nutrilite (Amway’s brand) uses probiotics developed and manufactured by DuPont—meaning Amway acts merely as a distributor. World-leading probiotics originate from Danisco (a subsidiary of DowDuPont) and International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (IFF). Their flagship probiotic brand is HOWARU. In February 2021, IFF acquired DuPont’s Nutrition & Biosciences division for $26 billion. Consequently, DuPont’s soy protein, lecithin, probiotics, enzyme preparations, and related businesses were fully integrated into IFF. Shown above is Nutrilite’s best-selling probiotic product. Carefully examine its ingredient list: it contains *Lactobacillus acidophilus* NCFM powder—a patented strain developed and produced by DuPont. See the image below.
