Putin threatens to level Kyiv; Ukrainian forces strike a Russian icebreaker 1,000 kilometers away

Russia’s official media yesterday suddenly claimed—falsely—that Ukrainian forces had attacked a Russian vocational school and killed students. Citing this alleged incident as justification, the Russian military announced plans to launch an intense, high-density bombing campaign over the next month to completely cripple all infrastructure in Kyiv—Ukraine’s capital of several million people—rendering it 'uninhabitable.' However, to date, no verified evidence supporting Ukraine’s involvement in such an attack against students has been found by independent international investigative bodies or Western intelligence networks. Let us, for argument’s sake, assume this claim were true. Even then, a simple comparison of verified data reveals who is truly playing the role of ‘thief crying “catch the thief!”’ According to official UN and UNICEF data—verified as of November 2025—Russian forces have deliberately destroyed 1,611 Ukrainian schools and carried out approximately 4,500 direct attacks on educational facilities. In contrast, there are zero verified incidents of Ukrainian forces attacking schools. Given that the war has now entered its fourth year, doesn’t this stark asymmetry also corroborate President Zelenskyy’s statement just two days ago: that Ukraine’s strikes target only military and strategic assets, while Russia’s attacks on Ukrainian cities consistently focus on civilian infrastructure? To amplify this psychological warfare, Russia deliberately spread warnings urging foreign citizens and diplomats in Kyiv to flee immediately. This diplomatic intimidation backfired spectacularly—igniting fury across the EU! EU foreign policy spokesperson Nathalie Loiseau issued a public statement on Tuesday announcing that the EU had urgently summoned Russia’s EU envoy and delivered a stern rebuke in person, condemning Moscow’s threats to foreign nationals. She explicitly emphasized: EU delegations would not withdraw from Kyiv—they would remain steadfast in Ukraine’s capital! And the EU was not alone: yesterday, over 70 heads and representatives of foreign diplomatic missions from around the world braved air-raid sirens to visit sites of recent Russian strikes on Kyiv’s civilian infrastructure. At that very moment, a viral online video showed a Russian heavy glide bomb detonating on a street in central Kramatorsk—right beside a sidewalk café—despite the complete absence of any military facility nearby. The footage clearly shows civilians fleeing in panic twice; afterward, one man is seen with a bleeding arm being treated by others—blood pooling visibly on the pavement. Most recently, Putin personally signed a new law that has triggered fresh panic across Eastern Europe and Central Asia. This new military regulation authorizes the Russian armed forces to deploy military force abroad directly to 'protect' any Russian citizen facing arrest or prosecution—including cases brought before the International Criminal Court! In effect, this law grants Russia’s military a legally sanctioned 'blank check' to invade any neighboring country at will.

It turns out the Russian military launched two 'Hazelnut' missiles! The two Russian brothers hailed as 'Ukrainian heroes'

As of this writing, the U.S. government has issued no official response to the Russian Foreign Ministry’s warning. By contrast, EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarína Maternová declared: 'European diplomats will not leave Kyiv!' Ambassador Maternová previously revealed that during a Russian airstrike earlier this year, she slept in her bathroom—holding a mattress—because she couldn’t reach the shelter in time; the bathroom was deemed the safest spot. Disgustingly, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova mocked those photos as 'lacking erotic appeal'—a laughable, telling remark indeed. Ambassador Maternová’s statement and actions signal Europe’s unwavering commitment to Ukraine! The Russian Foreign Ministry’s warning targets not only the U.S. Embassy but all foreign diplomatic missions in Kyiv. In theory, every foreign embassy or consulate in Kyiv—including those of Russia’s so-called 'friendly countries'—could become a target for Russian bombardment. Indeed, multiple foreign diplomatic compounds and related facilities in Kyiv have already been struck by Russian drones in prior attacks. It remains unclear when the Russian military will launch its next large-scale aerial assault on Ukraine’s 'decision-making centers.' However, according to Le Monde, Ukrainian and Western intelligence agencies can typically detect such large-scale operations up to one week in advance. This early warning capability stems not only from Russian internal intelligence leaks but more significantly from the highly visible, logistical footprint of such operations: major airstrikes require personal approval from the Kremlin itself; detailed planning falls under the purview of Chief of the General Staff General Gerasimov and Defense Minister Belousov. Such massive operations demand extensive preparation across all branches of the Russian military—and involve tens of thousands of personnel. They are simply impossible to conceal. That is precisely why President Zelenskyy issued his warning before the 24th’s airstrikes. This is also why I believe the 24th’s airstrikes were not retaliation for the alleged 22nd attack on the vocational school in Luhansk Oblast: Russia could not possibly prepare such a large-scale operation within just one or two days. Regarding the Luhansk vocational school incident, the Russian government has activated its full propaganda apparatus, framing it as part of Ukraine’s alleged 'Nazi crimes'—even inviting foreign journalists to cover it. Yet personally, I have seen no photographic or video evidence—no images or footage—of the purported dead or injured 'female students.' Ukraine asserts that the target of that strike was Russian military personnel stationed inside the vocational school. As usual, the Kremlin has refused to allow the UN or the International Committee of the Red Cross—or any other international body—to conduct an on-site investigation. Incidentally, Russian authorities themselves are well aware that Ukraine does not strike non-military targets in Russia: the latest security advisory issued by the Russian-occupied Crimean authorities explicitly acknowledges this fact—a direct contradiction of the narrative pushed by Russian state media. Lastly, here’s some additional information on the Russian airstrikes of the 24th—specifically about the 'Hazelnut' medium-range hypersonic missile. According to the monitoring channel Monitor, the Russian military launched two 'Hazelnut' missiles that night. The first failed: its warhead separated mid-air north of Donetsk City—within territory controlled by Russian forces—with the extent of resulting damage still unknown. The second 'Hazelnut' struck Bila Tserkva near Kyiv—but, as usual, missed its intended target: Ukrainian sources assessed that the missile was aimed at an airport but instead hit a parking lot far away.
