Whether true or not, lithium battery capacity regulation is no impromptu decision. As early as June 2024, the newly revised “Regulatory Conditions for the Lithium-Ion Battery Industry (2024 Edition)” explicitly stated: “Enterprises should be guided to reduce purely capacity-expansion-oriented manufacturing projects,” and set a hard threshold: applicants must demonstrate actual output of no less than 50% of their nominal capacity in the preceding year.
