Covestro Partners with Fraunhofer to Build Rigid PU Foam Recycling Facility

Covestro has contracted Fraunhofer UMSICHT to operate a 2,000-ton annual capacity pilot chemical recycling plant for rigid polyurethane foam using pyrolysis technology. The facility aims to convert waste into high-purity aniline for recycled MDI production by mid-2028.
