Coca-Cola has announced that it will take a major step towards eliminating petroleum-based plastic packaging in the Western European market, transitioning to 100% recycled plastic for plastic bottles in the Netherlands and Norway

After launching recycled bottles in the Swedish market at the end of last year, Coca-Cola announced that from October this year, it will convert small-capacity plastic bottles produced locally in the Netherlands to recycled plastic bottles, involving brands including Coca-Cola, Sprite and Fanta

According to reports, Coca-Cola's recycled plastic bottle program in the Netherlands will eliminate the use of more than 10,000 tons of petroleum-based plastics, in addition, compared with the rPET plastic bottles used, the annual carbon footprint can also be reduced by 21%

In addition, starting in the first half of 2021, Coca-Cola Norway will replace all of its locally produced plastic bottles with 100% recycled bottles
