French cable giant Nexans has received nearly 37 million euros in cable orders to supply submarine cables
to Norwegian large power company BKK Nett AS.
According to reports, the submarine cable installed this time is used to connect the third section of the Modalen and Mongstad submarine cable system, ensuring the stable
demand for electricity for 420,000 local households, businesses and factories.
It is worth noting that Nexans provides a 420 kV XLPE submarine high-voltage cable, with a total length of 8 kilometers and a laying depth of up to 526 meters, breaking the length
and depth record set by Nexans for the same level of submarine cable laying.
At the end of 2016, Nexans supplied the same type of submarine cable for the first section of the Kollsnes-Mongstad submarine cable system, laying a depth of 390 meters
.
Nexans said that the 420 kV XLPE submarine cable will be produced by the Norwegian Halden worker and the Nexans Skagerrak submarine cable laying vessel will be installed and commissioned, and it is expected to be delivered
in the summer of 2019.
