Adidas has launched a new pair of limited-edition sunglasses featuring additive manufacturing, the industry's fancy term for 3D printing

The sunglasses have a unique woven look, and, as you might have guessed, they can't be folded, given how they're made

Only 150 pairs of these sunglasses are produced at a time, and very few people can buy them

The new sunglasses are called the Adidas 3D CMPT, and they're made from a flexible nylon material coated with a rubber-like substance

The lenses are made of brown polycarbonate with a mirror coating
.
There are non-slip pieces on the ends of the temples and the bridge of the nose to keep the sunglasses from slipping off when in use

3D CMPT sunglasses have a unique look that is often associated with items made using 3D printing technology

However, unlike a pair of sunglasses frames you might print at home, this is a fully functional pair of sunglasses that can be used on a hike or on a sunny day

The 3D CMPT is made in collaboration with the Marcolin Group, a Milan-based manufacturer that partnered with Adidas back in 2019
