Acrolein
[Structural formula]
CH 2 =CHCHO
[Physical and chemical properties] Colorless, transparent, flammable, volatile and unstable liquid, with strong irritation, and its vapor has strong tearing properties
It is easy to polymerize when exposed to light and air or in the presence of strong bases and strong acids
[Preparation]
(1) Prepared by the catalytic condensation of acetaldehyde and formaldehyde
In 1938, Degussa Company used acetaldehyde and formaldehyde to produce acrolein by gas-phase catalytic condensation, and it was industrialized in 1942.
(2) Propylene catalytic oxidation method
Due to the development of the petroleum industry, a large amount of propylene raw materials have been produced.
The process flow is shown in Figure 7-15
Figure 7-15 Acrolein production process flow
Propylene, air (oxygen) and water vapor are mixed and preheated in a certain proportion, and then reacted at 290~380℃ and 205~308kPa pressure.
[Technical Index]
[Application] Acrolein is a highly effective bactericidal and algaecide, 1.
Acrolein is an intermediate for the manufacture of organic products.
