Ascend introduces functional textiles with zinc-ion antimicrobial technology

Recently, Ascend unveiled its high value-added Acteev® sustainable antibacterial and anti-odor technology and unique combination of high-performance textiles at the 2022 Taipei Textile Show (TITAS
).

Ascend experts explain how this technology, which embeds zinc ions in PA66, can help textile manufacturers create sustainable outdoor clothing and other demanding equipment, while providing excellent protection against odors
caused by bacteria and mold.
Visitors can also touch fabrics and sample garments and experience the soft and comfortable skin feel of
functional textiles on site.

Acteev® technology uses zinc, a natural element, which is safe and harmless to
the environment.
This technology embeds zinc ions in the structure of high-quality PA66 fabrics and yarns, providing long-lasting odor protection
for textile applications such as underwear, coats, sleeping bags, tents, etc.
Unlike silver or copper-based antimicrobial technologies, zinc-ion technology has a long-lasting antimicrobial
effect even after 100 washes.
