Among them, BASF Care Chemicals (Shanghai) Co.

signed a contract for a care chemical base to build a "technical transformation project for high-end skin care and beauty products"

According to sources, BASF's care chemicals base has a total investment of about 280 million yuan, which can add about 525 million yuan in output value and about 158 ​​million yuan in annual tax revenue

The implementation of the project will build BASF Jinshan into an integrated headquarters base for the production and sales of high-end cosmetic raw materials and care chemicals
.
By promoting the construction of its headquarter base for care chemicals, it will further undertake and extend the development of related mid-stream and downstream industries, so as to accelerate the cultivation of tens of billions of daily chemicals, cosmetics, and care products industry clusters

After the operation of the newly invested project, in addition to satisfying the domestic market, it will also be exported to international markets such as Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia and South Asia
.

It is worth noting that in December 2021, BASF’s official website in China announced that it will invest in the establishment of a Uvinul® A Plus (sunscreen agent) production facility in Jinshan, Shanghai, China, to further expand the production capacity of BASF’s UV filtration product portfolio in the Asia-Pacific region

Previously, BASF promised in August 2020 that it would invest in a production plant for this product in Asia.
The new plant has a design capacity of about 1,500 tons per year and is expected to start production in the first half of 2023
