APK, based in Merseburg, Germany, produces high-quality plastic pellets from plastic waste

APK's first Newcycling® plant started commercial operations in June 2019 with an annual capacity of 8,000 tons for the separation of polyethylene and polyamide from multilayer packaging films (from industrial waste)

The Newcycling® process produces polymers in purified form by shredding waste, selectively dissolving plastics using solvents, separating liquid and solid components, purifying polymers, and removing solvents for reuse in the process

Nordson BKG equipment includes BlueFlow™ gear pumps, HiCon™ screen changers, polymer diverter valves, underwater pelletizers and Master-Line™ process water/pellet dryer systems

"Our Mersamid® products are designed to meet demanding technical applications and can be used to replace virgin plastics," said Florian Riedl, APK's Director of Business Development

Mr Riedl noted that APK will build a second Newcycling® plant elsewhere in Europe with a capacity of 20,000 tonnes to process mixed film waste from consumer product waste
