By 2025, India will lead the world in new oil and gas pipelines

Leading data and analytics firm GlobalData said India is expected to lead the globally planned and announced pipeline length expansion project between 2021 and 2025, accounting for around
23 percent of global pipeline additions by 2025.

The company reports that by 2025, India's planned pipeline length is 24,526 km, and the declared pipeline length is 5,087 km
.

Bhargavi Gandham, oil and gas analyst at GlobalData, said: "Kandla-Gorakhpur is the largest pipeline project to be carried out in the country, with a total length of 2,757 kilometers

The pipeline is used to transport petroleum products and is proposed to run from Gujarat to Uttar Pradesh
.
Operations
are expected to begin in 2025.

The United States ranks second in the world in terms of transmission pipeline length expansion, with 15,848 kilometers
planned and announced by 2025.
The Jupiter oil pipeline is the longest upcoming pipeline project from 2021 to 2025, with a length of 1,094 kilometers, and the planned pipeline is expected to start operations
in 2023.

"Russia ranks third globally with a total pipeline length of 8,170 km
planned and announced by 2025," Bhargavi concluded.
The NordStream 2 gas pipeline, the longest pipeline to be built in the country, is expected to begin operations in 2021 with a total length of 2,460 kilometers
