    Recently, Cambodia and Guangqi Hairong International Communications Group officially signed a cooperation agreement on the Cambodian branch of the Asian-Africa-Europe-1 Submarine Cable (AAE-1) and related infrastructure construction and operation, which marks that Guangqi Hairong has officially won the first intercontinental submarine cable project in Cambodia

    According to the agreement, Guangqi Hairong will build and operate the AAE-1 Cambodia branch and submarine cable landing station in the BOOT (Build, Own, Operate, Transfer) mode for a period of 25 years, with an estimated investment of nearly US$69.
    7 million, and is scheduled to be completed and put into service
    by the end of 2017.
    The project, which will allow Cambodia to have independent international bandwidth exports for the first time, is expected
    to be high.
    Cambodian Internet users currently account for 45% of the total population, about 6.

    by 2020.
