Joined forces! Amcor has partnered with Nestlé to launch a ground-breaking product – the recyclable flexible retort pouch
Amcor and Nestlé have teamed up to overcome what they believe is one of the biggest challenges facing the industry, the inability to recycle retort flexible packaging
The challenge with standard retort pouches is that they are made from a mix of materials, typically layers of PET, aluminium foil and polypropylene (PP)

The two companies collaborated in various aspects during product development to test products for heat resistance, machine performance, shelf life and recyclability in real-world applications
"Amcor and Nestlé have jointly created a unique packaging solution that has been considered impossible by the industry for many years," said Michael Zacka, President of Amcor Flexibles EMEA.
Flexible retort packs are hitting the market as an alternative to metal cans, which the companies say could improve the carbon footprint of hundreds of consumer products due to their light weight, resource efficiency, ease of transport and minimising food waste footprint
The new retort pouches also comply with the circular economy packaging guidelines recently published by the CEFLEX Alliance
