Sinochem News, according to Hydrocarbon Processing News on August 10, the US agribusiness giant Cargill and Thailand's PTT Global Chemical Pcl announced that they will build a biopolymer production facility in Thailand that will cost more than US$600 million

PTTGC said in a statement that the plant will be built through their joint venture, NatureWorks, and will help meet the growing demand for sustainable materials

The production base will use approximately 110,000 tons of sugar provided by Thai farmers as raw materials each year, and has an annual production capacity of 75,000 tons of biopolymers

It will start operation in 2024
