Sinochem News, according to Hydrocarbon Processing News on August 10, the US agribusiness giant Cargill and Thailand's PTT Global Chemical Pcl announced that they will build a biopolymer production facility in Thailand that will cost more than US$600 million
.

PTTGC said in a statement that the plant will be built through their joint venture, NatureWorks, and will help meet the growing demand for sustainable materials
.

The production base will use approximately 110,000 tons of sugar provided by Thai farmers as raw materials each year, and has an annual production capacity of 75,000 tons of biopolymers
.

It will start operation in 2024

Its products can be used to make sanitary masks, wipes and food packaging

Less than a month ago, PTTGC announced the acquisition of Allnex, a German coating resin manufacturer, for US$4.
