Yu Lifeng, deputy director of the Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, said that the elimination of HBCD is necessary for China to implement environmental governance and fulfill the obligations of international conventions.
Zhu Wenwei, chairman of the China Plastics Association, said that the China Plastics Association pays great attention to the progress of the elimination and replacement of HBCD , and established a special working group under the guidance of the Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, respectively in the fields of flame retardants, EPS and XPS .
Carry out research and guidance work related to the elimination and replacement of HBCD , and promote the orderly progress of related work.
Enterprises should also formulate elimination plans in advance, strictly implement elimination requirements, and use this as an opportunity to actively research HBCD alternative technologies, develop new environmentally friendly flame retardants that meet the requirements, and accelerate the industrialization of HBCD alternatives.
