Specialty chemicals company Clariant revealed that it is working on building partnerships across the value chain to better address the challenge of plastic waste polluti.
Recently, G20 ministers signed a new international framework agreement aimed at tackling marine plastic waste polluti.
Clariant believes that in tackling plastic waste, regulators, industry and society have a responsibility to work more closely together to drive design and innovation to reduce plastic use, increase reuse and improve recycling mechanis.
The company revealed that it will showcase its sustainable development collaboration project and the products behind it at the 2019 German International Plastics and Rubber Exhibition (K for short) to support the development of market-ready solutio.
K 2019 will be held in Düsseldorf, Germany from October 16th to 23.
Clariant's Sustainability Collaboration aims to transform traditional linear production and consumption patterns towards a circular economy of post-consumer and post-work plastics through three key elemen.
Notably, Clariant has collaborated with the Finnish oil refining company Neste in exploring how to extract renewable hydrocarbons from fat residues and waste cooking oi.
According to Richard Haldimann, Clariant's Director of Innovation Excellence and Business Incubator, Clariant is committed to building partnerships across the entire value chain, from producers to recycle.
