In order to effectively enhance the technological innovation and overall competitiveness of CNR and further promote the application of new energy technology in the field of rail transit, CNR began to cooperate and exchange
supercapacitor technology with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization of Australia in 2013.
Recently, China CNR Sifang signed a cooperation agreement
with the Australian Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization for the supercapacitor project.
The collaboration on this project forms an important part of
the Australian Government-led Railway Manufacturing Collaborative Research and Development Centre (RMCRC Project).

The RMCRC project aims to promote the development of railway manufacturing technology, and a total of 17 enterprises and scientific research companies around the world, including CNR, participate.

In August 2014, CNR participated as the only corporate representative in the 9th China-Australia Joint Committee on Science and Technology Cooperation organized by the Chinese and Australian governments, where the cooperation project between CNR and the Australian Science and Industry Organization was discussed, which was unanimously supported
by the Chinese and Australian governments.
In September of the same year, CNR officially signed the agreement of the participants in the RMCRC project, and the two sides confirmed nine cooperation projects
    , including supercapacitor technology.

Supercapacitor is a new type of energy storage device
    between traditional capacitors and batteries.
Compared with traditional capacitors, supercapacitors have the advantages
of large capacitance, high power density, large charge and discharge current, and long life.
At present, supercapacitors have been widely used in aerospace, electric vehicles and other fields, and are also a research hotspot
in the field of rail transit.

Advanced supercapacitor technology and its management system is the core technology of rail transit new energy traction system and traction power supply energy storage system, through the international cooperation of this project, CNR will make technological breakthroughs in new energy storage materials and energy storage technology, which is of great significance to CNR in the technology research and development of
rail transit traction drive system and traction power supply system.
