Recently, Google researchers successfully simulated a chemical reaction with the help of a quantum computer for the first time .
Success Chemistry
Since atoms and molecules are systems controlled by quantum mechanics, quantum computers are expected to be the best tool for accurately simulating them.
Researchers from the Google team used the company's Sycamore processor to simulate the isomerization reaction of a diazene molecule composed of two nitrogen atoms and two hydrogen atoms.
Researcher Ryan Babsch said that although this reaction may be relatively basic and does not require a quantum computer to be simulated, this study confirms that the current quantum algorithm can achieve the accuracy required for experimental prediction and is a quantum computing forward.
