Coca-Cola Amatil launches first plastic bottle made from 100% recycled plastic

Coca-Cola Coca-Cola Amatil, the Australian-based bottling company of The Coca-Cola Company, has produced carbonated soft drink bottles made from 100 per cent recycled plastic, a move it has described as a "significant step forward" towards sustainabili.

It is reported that all single-use plastic bottles produced by Coca-Cola Amatil in Australia will be converted to plastic bottles made from 100% renewable materials by the end of 201

Earlier this year, the bottling company announced that by 2020, 70 per cent of the plastic bottles it uses in Australia will be made of recycled plastic, reducing the amount of virgin plastic used by around 10,000 tonnes a ye.

Alison Watkins, general manager of Coca-Cola Amatil, said: "Every beverage bottle should be recycled and given a new life, not turned into waste in marine and terrestrial environmen.
