Swedish innovative company RenCom AB uses Coperion's advanced twin-screw extrusion system to produce the thermoplastic biomaterial RENOL®
.
Coperion ZSK co-rotating twin-screw extruder for the production of thermoplastic biomaterials
.
RenCom and Coperion conducted comprehensive research in Coperion's extrusion laboratory in Stuttgart, Germany, to develop the processing of this lignin-based material, utilizing ZSK twin-screw extruder technology to produce durable, reusable biomaterials
.
Future-proof biomaterial extrusion technology
Future-proof biomaterial extrusion technologyRenCom holds a patent on a material process that efficiently converts lignin into renewable, degradable biomaterials
.
RENOL® biomaterial structure
.
RENOL® biomaterials are processed by extrusion and compounding processes and can be used to manufacture various plastic products, such as plastic bags and glues, etc.
It can be used directly in existing production equipment without any modification of machines or methods
.
Coperion worked with RenCom to design a complete extrusion system including a ZSK co-rotating twin-screw extruder, gravity feeder, a billet pelletizing system, a lignin bag discharge station and A bag unloading station
.
The ZSK Mv PLUS series combines an optimized balance between a large free volume of the screw with a high screw speed and high specific torque
.
With the side feeder ZS-B, RenCom can add fillers and additives during processing according to the requirements of the finished product
.
Coperion will deliver the entire system in October this year
