Covestro and Nexeo Plastics develop Addigy® - a PC/ABS filament for 3D printing

Nexeo Plastics, a leading global distributor of thermoplastic resins, has partnered with material manufacturer Covestro to develop and launch Addigy® FPB 2684 3D, a new PC/ABS 3D printing filament

From now on, this filament can be purchased through Nexeo Plastics' distribution platform
.

The product sets the standard for performance by maintaining its toughness and UV resistance in high temperature environments up to 122 degrees Celsius, enabling part printing for outdoor applications
.
Furthermore, this new filament is very easy to print, opening up opportunities for wider 3D printing applications
.
Nexeo Plastics and Covestro have demonstrated this by successfully printing a tiny boat at 250% magnification on an Ultimaker S3 printer
.

This polycarbonate blend is available in black and white with filament diameters of 1.
75 and 2.

More colors will be added to the PC/ABS portfolio later this year at customer request

Years of cooperation

The development of Addigy® FPB 2684 was a collaborative effort

It results in a material that provides an extremely smooth surface finish while offering impact resistance and exceptional strength

Leveraging its deep technical support services experience, Nexeo Plastics facilitated the development of Covestro's Addigy® FPB 2684 using test scenarios based on the actual printing needs of the market

Ultimaker has co-developed printing parameters for its Ultimaker S3 and S5 series printers, which can be downloaded on the Ultimaker Cura Marketplace
