On June 1st, Covestro joined the "Green Recycled Plastics Supply Chain Joint Working Group" (GRPG) led by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation and China Material Recycling Association as a founding member, and will work with stakeholders in the industry chain.

The working group aims to solve the bottleneck problem in the construction of plastic circular economy, build a standard and evaluation system that is commonly recognized by the entire recycled plastics industry chain, open up all links in the plastics industry chain, and promote the application of green recycled plastics and the construction of a green plastics supply chain
.
The founding members of the working group are from well-known raw material producers, terminal brands, recycling terminals, and recycled materials in the industry chain, including 16 companies such as Sinopec, Procter & Gamble, and Shuye Environmental Protection
.
After the official inauguration meeting is held on June 20, a complete set of recycled plastics standard system, certification system and testing system will be established, covering the whole life cycle of recycled plastics - from plastic product recycling, recycled material processing to product addition, standardization Safe and sustainable application of recycled plastic, scientific evaluation and guidance of the design and production of green plastic products

This system will be based on the actual situation of China's plastics industry, aiming at the needs of the industrial chain and specific subdivision application fields, and based on the principles of scientific rationality, operability and ease of implementation, to provide standardized guidance for enterprises participating in the construction of green recycled plastics supply chain
