Development and Reform Commission: In 2022, carbon neutrality should be placed in a prominent position in environmental protection work

On the afternoon of January 6th, the Environmental and Resources Department of the National Development and Reform Commission held a special meeting to study the carbon neutralization work of Carbon Peak.

The meeting pointed out that promoting carbon neutralization is a major strategic decision made by the Party Central Committee after careful consideration.

The meeting emphasized that carbon neutralization is a systemic change in the economy and society, a complex project and a long-term task, which cannot be accomplished overnight

The meeting requested that in 2022, carbon neutrality should be placed in a prominent position in the environmental protection work, and the daily work of the leading group office should be carefully done, focusing on the following aspects:

The first is to speed up the improvement of the “1+N” policy system for carbon peaking and carbon neutrality

The third is to promote breakthroughs in key tasks

The fifth is to consolidate the foundation of carbon neutralization

The sixth is to coordinate and carry out international cooperation on climate change
