    Diverxia awarded 240MW of PV projects in Colombia

    Spanish renewable energy company Diverxia Infrastructure has received approval from Colombia's Ministry of Mining and Energy Planning (UPME) to develop its first large-scale photovoltaic project
    in the country.

    Diverxia's Colombua project has an installed capacity of 240MW.

    Once completed, the installation will generate 469 GWh of electricity per year, generating enough energy to power 170,000 Colombian households while reducing CO2 emissions
    by 314,150 tons per year.

    It is understood that the project, which covers an area of 530 hectares, still needs to obtain more permits before construction can begin, and work on the project is expected to begin
    in 2020.

    Back in May 2018, Enel announced that it was developing an 86.
    2MW El Paso solar farm in the Cesar sector in northern Colombia, the largest solar project
