A Dow official said on December 3 that it plans to complete the expansion of its cracker in Orange, Texas, in the first quarter of 2020

The official pointed out that the current ethylene capacity of the cracker is 700,000 tons/year
.
The Orange cracker formerly belonged to DuPont, which merged in 2017, followed by the separation of new Dow, new DuPont and agricultural product company Corteva in 2019
.
In June 2017, engineering and construction company CB&I announced that it had won a $40 million contract for an ethane cracker expansion at DuPont's Orange cracker

Dow officials did not confirm the specific production capacity of the project

Dow said on its third-quarter 2019 earnings call that the company will also work on a Sabine ethylene copolymer expansion at its Orange, Texas plant, which will be phased in in the first half of 2020.
