Recently, Evonik and thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions AG signed a hydrogen peroxide to propylene oxide (HPPO) process license and technical service agreement with Zibo Qixiang Tengda Chemical .
The global polyurethane market is poised for further growth, with China being one of the most important growth marke.
Claus Rettig, Chairman of the Executive Board of Evonik's Resource Efficiency Business Unit, said: "With the increasing awareness of environmental protection in China, HPPO will become the technology of choice for the sustainable production of propylene oxi.
It is reported that in the next few years, Qixiang Tengda will build a comprehensive factory at the Zibo base, and plans to produce 300,000 tons of propylene oxide and hydrogen peroxide required for the HPPO process per ye.
It is understood that compared with the traditional propylene oxide production process, the investment cost of HPPO is significantly lower and the profit is high.
