ExxonMobil discovers oil offshore Guyana

According to the Oil & Gas Journal website on April 27, ExxonMobil discovered a piece of oil in the Uaru-2 well in the Stabroek block offshore Guyana, which increased the estimated total recoverable resources in the block.

In January 2020, ExxonMobil Uaru-1 was the 16th discovery of the block.

In March 2021, ExxonMobil acquired the sixth drillship Noble Sam Croft for exploration and evaluation drilling activities offshore Guyana.

ExxonMobil expects to have at least six projects online by 2027, and it is expected to have the potential of up to 10 floating production and storage vessels to develop its current balance of recoverable resources.

With the Liza Unity floating production and storage vessel preparing to leave Singapore later this year, the start of the second phase of the Liza project is still progressing in accordance with the 2022 target.
