France's Orange Telecom partnered with Google to build the Dunant submarine cable

Global telecommunications operator Orange has announced that it will cooperate with Google to develop its 6,600-kilometer Dunant submarine cable system
connecting the Atlantic coast of the United States and France.

Orange said it would build and operate landing stations on France's Atlantic coast and provide return service
to Paris.
Global telecom operator Orange will benefit from fiber pairs with a capacity of more than 30Tbp/s per pair, meaning 1GB movies
can be transferred in 30 microseconds.

Not only that, but the investment in the submarine cable project will allow Orange to increase its network capacity to meet the growth in data and content demand between Europe and the
United States.
Orange will be able to support consumer and enterprise customers in Europe and the United States in developing new uses

Dunant will be the first new submarine cable
to connect the United States and France in 15 years.
The Dunant cable is part of a wave of
infrastructure investment from Google.
These include the Curie Submarine Cable Project, the first private intercontinental cable
connecting Chile and Los Angeles.

Orange said the 6,600-kilometer cable is expected to be operational in 2020 and the company will build and operate landing stations and provide land connections
along France's Atlantic coast.
