As part of a consortium to build Poland's last coal-fired power plant, GE Power may subcontract the power plant project to Polish manufacturers Rafako and Polimex-Mostostal
, with which it previously cooperated, Reuters reported.
In April, GE Power, along with Alstom Power, won a tender for a 1,000-megawatt plant built by Polish utility Energa and Enea in Ostroleka, northeastern Poland, for PLN 6 billion ($1.
68 billion).
The consortium of Polimex-Mostostal and Rafako failed to win the bid for PLN 9.
59 billion, while the China Power Engineering Consulting Group offered a contract
of PLN 4.

Michael Keroulle, GE Power's Chief Commercial Officer, said, "We are considering partnering with Rafako and Polimex-Mostostal, but we have not yet started any discussions with GE Power and are absolutely interested in exploring Ostroleka's options with the company, subject to the completion of the tender process
