Recently, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group will build a plant in London for London Taxi Company to produce new energy vehicles, mainly for the production of next-generation pure electric taxis and ultra-low emission taxis

It is reported that Geely Holding Group will invest 250 million pounds (about 2.
3 billion yuan), and the annual design capacity of the new plant will reach 36,000 vehicles, which is expected to start production
in 2017.
When completed, the new plant will not produce the original TX4 model, but will be an upgraded TX5 model to meet the new emissions requirements
for taxis from the City of London.
Prior to this, the mayor of London, Boris Johnson, announced a plan to require that all new taxis in London must have zero-emission capabilities from January 1, 2018, and actively encourage the production of pure electric taxis and plug-in hybrids, hoping that these vehicles can automatically start zero-emission mode
in some places with poor air quality, such as the city center.
