for the capacity building of chemical recycling and treatment of plastic waste in the United States.
If the construction goes well, the chemical recycling capacity of plastic waste in the United States may reach 5 million tons/year
by 2025.
Currently, ICIS has confirmed that there are currently more than 35 pyrolysis or gasification facility chemical recovery units under construction or in operation
in the United States.

ICIS said that at present, many companies are planning to start building chemical recycling facilities
for plastic waste.
However, there are many uncertainties in this area, and the construction of facilities may be delayed or cancelled
for economic reasons, raw material sources and legislative issues.

of demand for recycled polyethylene in the United States.
To date, California, Colorado, Oregon and Maine have passed extended producer responsibility laws, and California, Washington, Maine, Connecticut and New Jersey have passed post-consumer recycling content requirements
